Principal Message from Mr. Young

The 2026-27 school year is here! I want to let our teachers, parents, community, and most importantly, our students, know just how excited we are to have you coming to Butler County High School.  IT IS A GREAT TIME TO BE A BEAR!  We will continue to work with our community and schoolwide goals of graduating students that are career and/or college ready with strong values around our targets of Problem Solving, Communication, Collaboration, Character, and Global Citizenship.  Our Butler County community believes these five categories will make students ready for life beyond high school, whether it be in college, the military, or the workforce.  We will continue to work with our students to BUILD A BETTER BCHS, A BETTER BUTLER COUNTY, AND A BETTER WORLD!

Our student-led theme this year is BUTLER BELONGS, with a focus on making sure U BELONG at BCHS.  We believe Butler County High School belongs in the top tier of schools in the state of Kentucky.  Our students continue to prove this fact true with cheerleaders competing at a national level, our baseball and girls basketball teams winning district titles, our choir and band performing tremendously at state competitions, and our Renaissance, FCCLA, and FFA student groups representing us on a large stage.  BUTLER BELONGS and our students and teachers will be working to make sure you belong at BCHS!  Bring your work ethic and a “say yes” attitude because it is going to be a great year!

The words BUTLER BELONGS are displayed in large, bold black letters on a blue background.
